Hello
I'm Liza. I'm a western Mass local, though I spent my twenties and early thirties traipsing around the US and the globe. I returned home three months after having my first child and two weeks before the pandemic hit, and brought my second kiddo into the world just up the road in Florence. I've spent my career in education and healthcare analytics, but I discovered birth work through voraciously devouring all the birth stories and books I could during my pregnancies, and knew in my gut it was time to dive in.
My Approach & Values
I believe that birth is important. You only do this a few times: once, twice, maybe ten times if you really love chaos. Pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum are a time of unique vulnerability, excitement and discovery. A great care team around you can help you channel those emotions into a powerful, positive experience.

I bring a knowledge of and belief in birther's ability to bring their baby into this world in the way that is best for them. I support all types of births, from home births (though only midwife-led home births, I am not able to be present for free births) to hospital to planned caesarean. I can help you build a birth plan that reflects your growing family's unique values and allows for the flexibility that any birth requires.

I also bring practical skills and knowledge: a strong foundation in childbirth education, an excellent set of local and online resources in my pocket, and knowledge from my doula training and studies, including movement and positioning, acupressure and massage.
